Partners In Crime….
It may not have been love at first sight, but these two have grown to love eachother soooo much. Ginger was super excited for a new little playmate when we went to get rusty. When she realized he was staying for good-she kept her distance for a few days. It didn’t take long for Rusty to win her over though. She LOVES having someone to wrestle with, and they make pretty good cuddle buddies.
Now these two lovebirds hate being seperated. If one ends up on the other side of a door from the other they both will lay right next to the door so they can be as close to eachother as possible and they will sniff under the door vigorously, and some whining occurs. But when they are reunited you would think they had been apart for weeks.
They love running water….sometimes they will sit right infront of the vanity and look at us, and then the sink, back at us, back to the sink. This is their way of saying “I would like some running water please.” , and who could deprive them when they’re so cute?
They truly do love eachother, and enjoy doing everything together. The perfect vizsla team. I love how they look like they’re holding hands with their paws crossed. If people took notes on their storybook romance……
Excuse my delightful expression in this one. I was about 6 months pregnant and was halfway asleep with the puppers, when Jeff pulled out the camera…..just another example of how loving they are.
Then Kalvin our little baby boy joined the mix, and now we’re one big happy family!
The New Guy: Rusty Joins The Crew
So we didn’t have Ginger too long before we decided we needed another one. We wanted a boy this time, and we were interested in breeding them. So we made sure we found another breeder, and were put on a waiting list. Before we knew it, we got a call and Rusty was ready to join the family as well…..and to even things out Rusty became a momma’s boy.
From day one Rusty was a licker and a cuddler.
And more than willing to humor me.
Like Ginger, Rusty like to be involved in EVERYTHING you do. Going to the bathroom is no exception. He would often climb into our pants while we were using the restroom. How much more lovable can a puppy get!
Rusty caught onto potty training very quickly as well. Infact 4 days after we got him we had to go on a road trip to a family reunion in KS (an 8 hour drive) He had zero accidents in the car. And we were staying in a hotel on the 13th floor! He was able to communicate when he needed to go, and hold it for a walk to the elevator, and elevator ride 12 stories down and make it outside every time. It was awesome….although I definitely got my exercise in.
And here’s our big handsome boy. He is full of energy but still cuddles with his momma every chance he gets…..
Ginger Joins The Family
I had been a little down in the dumps and I was home from work because of the first blizzard of the year. Jeff thought it would cheer me up if we went to look and play with some puppies. Well looking quickly turned into purchasing and bringing home “Ginger”. She won us over immediately and continues to do so daily. Ginger is such a sweet heart, and we quickly found she was a daddy’s girl. Just a couple days after bringing her home, Jeff was taking a bath after a long days work and Ginger climbed in with him. I guess being right beside the bathtub wasn’t close enough. She always wants to be part of what we’re doing and right by our side. This is a vizsla trait at it’s finest.
Ginger has been a little smarty pants since the day we brought her home. She was potty trained within the first 3-4 days we had her. We trained her to ring a bell when she needed to go outside and go potty. From day one she was a daddy’s girl and it hasn’t changed a bit over time.……
Another thing about Ginger that we noticed right off the bat is she’s a “poser”. She loved having her picture taken, and would strike poses. Ginger is definitely one elegant lady.
We love taking the dogs to the Reservoir. They have a big off leash dog area that has a creek running through it. Ginger loves chasing twigs through the waterl…..
As part of being a hunting dog Ginger is very intrigued by other animals: birds, squirrels, cats, horses, etc. She would try and claw her way up the trees to play with her little friends. So Jeff helped her out, and she loved it.
Ginger heard some dogs coming towards us so she is lying in wait here……actually she was supposed to be going potty and got distracted but I wasn’t letting her go play with the dogs so she was trying to get as close to them as possibly- thus her desperately laying on the ground!
Ginger had to stay over night at the vet. And of course the first thing she did was make up for lost time, and got her cuddle on with Jeff.
Ginger loves to lay on our window seat and watch people walk by, but she especially loves when a squirrel or bird is hanging out in the yard.
Our little beauty!
