WEEK 2 FLEW…
Can’t believe these little rascals are already 2 weeks old tomorrow! And my have they grown! All of them have tripled in weight. Some of them are packing on the oz more than others, but they are all so cute and most importantly HEALTHY!
This picture gives a good idea of our size differences. Orchid our smallest female next to Honey our biggest female right now!
Now let’s spotlight our pups
ORCHID: Though she be little, she be fierce. This little lady is the hardest to weigh at night, she is soooo wiggly. She was also the first to start opening her eyes this week!
ROSE; This gal is pretty low maintenance so far and just loves cuddling with her siblings! Size wise she is average!
HONEY: This girl is a fatty for sure, our biggest female. She can sleep through anything, well anything except feeding time! She is constantly cracking me up with her funny sleeping positions!
AMBER: Like her sister Rose she’s not too big, and not too little, she’s just right! She is a little more independent from her siblings though and can be found lounging alone occasionally.
My daughter interrupted her photo shoot, to give her some loves…..
COBALT: This guy is the biggest of the bunch and his wrinkles just kill me! He is a cuddler for sure though, and is quite entertaining with his sleeping positions as well. He has no problems sprawling out!
SCARLET: She’s large but lean. She is always striking posh poses. She’s our supermodel pup i think…she was also the quickest in figuring out the whole ‘walking’ thing!
Week 2 was much like week 1 with all the sleeping and eating…..
And with 5 siblings there is never a shortage of vizsla pillows.
We’ve got some noisy eaters, and there’s no question that feeding time is on!
Some pups tap out sooner than others….
those little paws!
The silence that follows feeding time is haunting….and this is what it usually looks like.
Some more of those funny poses i was talking about.
Honey is the most likely to be mistaken for dead with her poses!
More exciting and fun things this week are pup’s eyes have started opening
And they are becoming quick pros at walking!
With their eyes opening they are checking out the shadows on the wall of the whelping box…
Seriously this girl sleeps through weigh ins, photoshoots, and mamma’s baths..
she even eats in her sleep….
The numbers on the scale aren’t the only things growing. Pups nails were in need of a trimming. While Jeff was trimming up Orchid’s she started trying to snack on his fingers.
Pups also outgrew their ribbons this week and got some fresh ones!
Since pups are figuring out life, and going longer between feedings, Ruby has been able to spend a little time away from the kids and takes her breaks with her people! We’ve loved seeing a little more of this devoted mamma!
Rusty never ceases to make me pause with his majestic posings doing every day dog things like looking out the window….he’s kind of a big deal around here!
ALL pups are reserved! Due to the high volume of calls and messages we’ve received with interest in pups (we hate having to turn away great families!) we are opening things up for deposits on our Fall Litter. So if you missed the boat on this one, please contact us to secure a pup next go around! Email us at ingridlouwheezer@gmail.com or call 303-842-4041. Females are $900, and males are $800. For deposits we require half down.

Pups Have ARRIVED!
Just like with any momma nearing delivery Ruby was starting to get big and a bit uncomfortable towards the end of her first pregnancy! She would just sleep and sprawl out on the living room floor!
Even pregnancy looks good on this gal!
She loves her daddy….
Ruby whelped the pups Wednesday beginning around 9:30 am. I had been monitoring her temp and it had dropped a couple degrees the evening before so we figured Wednesday would be the day! My parents are staying with us, so i was excited that i may have some help this time around (Ginger always loved to whelp her pups when i was here alone) Well, my dad was off to work, then Jeff a few hours later, and then a few hours later still my mom left, not even 5 minutes after my mother had left Ruby began panting! Of course! Alrighty, I knew it was about show time, so I wanted to let Rusty and Ginger out to go potty before I kenneled them up. Of course Ruby went out with them, and I watched her closely as she looked like she was trying to poop, and I then saw pre-birth liquid coming from her vagina. I rushed her inside and into the whelping box where I could see the first pup already bulging out. Puppy time!
First pup was born at 9:31am ORCHID (female):
Next pup came shortly after at 9:54 am ROSE (female):
Again about 20 minutes later at 10:12 am HONEY (female):
Just as I finished with Honey we were joined at 10:23 am by AMBER (female):
We had a 2 hour break , where I eventually had Ruby take a few laps down the hallway to keep things moving along….
At 12:10 pm we met our first male COBALT:
Then our final pup made it’s debut at 12:34 pm SCARLET (female):
That’s right folks 5 FEMALES, and 1 MALE! So crazy. We had recieved 3 male deposits, so this was unexpected. In past litters we had always been a little male heavy, so this is new for us!
Tired mamma just an hour or so after whelping the final pup.
Everything that puppies do is cute….they can’t help it.
As you can see Cobalt is super dark!
I love how the inside of the pups ears look in the early stages!
They quickly learn to use one another as pillows!
oh and the stretches…..
And who doesn’t love a little vizsla puppy “comb over”….
This beautiful momma has embraced motherhood so gracefully! She’s a rockstar!
The male is of course spoken for, and 3 females are reserved. At this time we have 2 females still available. If you are interested in putting a deposit down one of the remaining females or on a future litter please contact us by email - ingridlouwheezer@gmail.com or by phone at 303-842-4041
Females are $900.00, and males are $800.00. Deposits are half down, and then you pay the remaining amount at pickup. These pups will be available for pick up beginning July 1st!
